Let’s explore how coaching can be a game-changer in navigating challenges and turning them into possibilities.
My aim with these posts is to bring concrete examples of coaching topics and shed light on how coaching can help as a tool for personal and professional development.
A client came to coaching with a social comparison issue that negatively impacted their perception about their job.
The client spent a considerable amount of time on their phone on social media checking out what other people post, comparing themselves with the people they followed and drawing the conclusion about having less, being worse off, and not doing what others are doing professionally.
Throughout the coaching process, I helped the client set and maintain a limit for their social media usage.
They started limiting their phone access, leaving it in another room while focusing on a task. Now they intentionally think about setting their phone aside and are able to do it.
They write “to do” lists on paper rather than on their phone, in order to not get distracted by social media.
As a result, the client noticed they gained time for other activities that allowed them to resolve concrete things in their daily life and at work.
They became more engaged in their role and more interested in communicating with colleagues and finding out what they do in their roles.
That helped them work more closely with stakeholders and gain confidence in their own abilities, which led to higher quality work.
If you’re struggling with comparison, scattered attention and want to focus on your tasks and on your growth, working with me can get you the solution to your problem.
Send me a message and let’s work together to shift your mindset and get you the best out of your career.
