A client came to coaching experiencing spiraling negative thoughts and had a belief that tense situations and arguments should be settled on the spot. 
The client wasn’t fully aware of their boundaries and wasn’t communicating their limits to people at work or in their personal life.

Throughout the coaching process, I helped the client become more aware of their negative thoughts and find constructive alternatives to those thoughts. 
They have an awareness that unwanted or unpleasant things are not permanent. 
They’re able to dispute generalizing thoughts that come up automatically.

As a result, the client is taking more time to reflect before they react. They don’t say yes to everything at work on the spot as before. 
They are able to say no in a diplomatic way and to relieve some of the self imposed pressure.
They are more aware of their own limits. 
They recognize when someone else sets a limit and can learn from their experience.
